Sound of the Mystics: A Concert of Music Along the Silk Road

Join us for the debut concert of The Nur Collective, with music from various regions along the ancient silk road and beyond. With Uzbek dutar, Turkish saz and ney, Uyghur rawap, Arab oud and darbukah, The Nur Collective will transport you to the rich musical world of the Islamic mystics. There will be a sharing session where the musicians will introduce their instruments and interested members of the audience are free to give it a go!

Guest singer: Reena Khubchandani.

Renna is a melodious vocalist trained under her guru Tai in India. She now continues with Ustad Siraj in HK and surbahar maestro Ustad Irshad khan. She has performed at the Indian Art’s Circle, IBA, FIPHK, Kowloon Ball, In Harmony, Erase Poverty and other events. For our concert, Reena will be singing the mesmerising Mast Qalandar.

在這場音樂會中，我們會由最遠的北非開始，經土耳其、烏茲別克、新疆，最後會向南走，由特約歌手Reena Khubchandani帶大家體驗超級洗腦的巴基斯坦蘇菲音樂。（樂曲中間會有英文介紹，歡迎用廣東話／普通話提問）

我們玩的樂器有高亢亮麗的維吾爾樂器熱瓦甫、節奏強勁攪動心絃的烏茲別克都塔爾、宛轉周折的烏茲別克彈撥爾、比電結他更帶電的土耳其撒茲、空靈飄渺的土耳其斜蕭、低迴沉鬱的阿拉伯烏德琴，還有派對靈魂、令人坐不住的中東鼓。
